Based on the best-selling novels (I read them), this movie doesn't disappoint as it stayed true to the basic concept of the books. I was very happy with Freddie Highmore's dual performance as the twin brothers and Mary-Louise Parker's role as the mom. The special effects were good without scaring smaller kids. The generation gap was closed between the children and the elderly matriarch, played by Joan Plowright. Filled with goblins, fairies and mysterious other creatures, this was a delightful movie for elementary ages up.
